Villa Carlotta at a glance
Villa Carlotta is at Via Statale 5605 in Tremezzina, in the district of Tremezzo on the west shore of Lake Como. It is a villa with a museum and a garden, and it sits in a different place from Bellagio and from the town of Como. Treat it as its own stop on the west shore, together with the ferry landings of Tremezzo and Cadenabbia.
This is an independent guide, not run by the villa or by any ferry company. Prices are in euros, as listed for 2026, and they change. The calendar below is the one for 2026, so check the current hours before you travel in another year.

Getting to the villa
The ferry timetable gives walking distances to the villa. From Cadenabbia it is about 900 m, and from Tremezzo it is about 450 m. Do not mix these up with the landing that carries the name "Villa Carlotta". Read the footnotes on the timetable and pick the landing that matches your boat.
Cadenabbia connects across the water to Bellagio in about 10 minutes on the weekday autumn timetable, which runs until 1 November 2026. The same network links Menaggio and Varenna, so you can reach the villa from either shore. Only landings marked "traghetto" take cars. See the ferry page for fares and the current timetable.
From Menaggio, the villa is on the same shore. See Menaggio for the ferry links and the walks nearby.
Planning the visit
Practical points for the day.
Time of day
From 19 October the villa closes at 18:00 and the last ticket sells at 17:00, an hour earlier than in summer. Plan to arrive by early afternoon.
Pair it with a boat ride
The landings at Tremezzo and Cadenabbia let you combine the villa with a short crossing. Plan the return boat from the timetable, not from memory.

Villa del Balbianello is reached from Lenno and needs a reservation. It is a different visit, with different days.
